In my garden today - harvested ramps
Ramps, also called wild leeks, are members of the onion/garlic family and are delicious spring delicacies. I've found them in local woods and have brought some back to put into my own woods. They thrive in partial shade and rich forest soil. The bulbs are deep so dig down at least six inches when harvesting. The leaves are edible but get tough as the spring progresses. They give a delightful garlicky onion flavor to rice or pasta.
